New Feature Film Probes The Dark-Side of Government
Columbia, MO (PRWEB) March 25, 2008 -- Realizing the losing battle for working Americans to keep up with what goes on in their own government, producers William Lewis and Keith Abel struck out on an enduring mission - to make an engaging documentary that challenges popular misconceptions about just how much control the Federal government really has over everyday American's lives. From the mismanagement of Hurricane Katrina rescue efforts and law enforcement abuses to the wrongful imprisonment and torturing of legal enemy combatants and misuse of the FBI and NSA -- nothing is taboo in this disturbing look at the dark side of government.
"WASHINGTON, YOU'RE FIRED" was born out of shear frustration with abuses in our current political system and it gives a voice to Americans across the country. Lewis and Abel trailed their way across the United States on an expedition to pull together the thoughts and requirements that everyday Americans have for their political representatives in Washington, D.C. The results were staggering and their stories are moving.
The American people know in their hearts that a problem exists in our current political structure and their solutions are simple, direct, and honest. "WASHINGTON, YOU'RE FIRED" captures the spirit and zest of an old fashioned Boston tea party and captivatingly delivers the audience an education into legislation that will affect them and generations of Americans to come.
The film doesn't offer up any magic bullet solutions. Instead, it explores these ideas of change alongside the voices of Americans who are waking up to realize that their own government had misplaced its checks and lost its balance. Americans are demonstrating that they want to be at the helm of their government, the only question is, will they reach out with both hands and steer the rudder of democracy in the right direction? "WASHINGTON, YOU'RE FIRED" shows them how to do it.
Project creator and director, William Lewis recently stated, "WASHINGTON, YOU'RE FIRED was designed as an instrument for ordinary Americans, like you and me, to forcefully exert themselves back into the electoral process. It's about hope and change, and now we have a tool for unifying Americans under that banner of change. The hope is that Americans will be positively affected and motivated to take action."
